Making Konomi Matcha

Latte

Add 1 scoop (3g) of Konomi Matcha to 2 tablespoons (40mls) of 75oC degree water to a cup. Whisk to a thin paste. Heat 250mls of milk of your choice to approximately 60-70oC, then slowly pour onto Matcha paste, stir and sweeten if desired.

Smoothie

Place 1-2 scoops (3-6g) of Konomi Matcha, 250mls of milk, yoghurt, fruit, sweetening if desired and any additional ingredients into a blender. Blend well. Pour into a glass and sprinkle with a little extra Matcha.

Juice

Place 1 scoop (3g) of Konomi Matcha (Vanilla, Maple or Honey Spice) into a glass. Add 2 tablespoons of 75oC water and whisk to a thin paste. Pour in 200-250mls of juice of choice (we prefer cloudy apple), stir and add ice. Or, alternatively, go shakey with you juice and use the method below.

Shaken

Add 1-2 scoops (3-6g) of Konomi Matcha and 1/2 cup of ice cubes into a cocktail shaker (you could also use a jug, flask or jar with a tight lid). Shake it, shake it, shake it, shake it up! Pour into a glass to serve, sprinkle with some extra Matcha on the top to finish.

Ceremonial

Stretch your ceremonial wrist and take up your tools: Chasen, Chashaku and Chawan (whisk, scoop and bowl). Place 1 scoop (3g) of Organic Ceremonial Grade Matcha into the bowl, using the whisk to gently break up any clumps. Add 100 mls of 75oC hot water (be very careful with the temperature as water that's too hot can cause bitter tea and burnt lips). Whisk vigorously (using wrist action) in a "W" or "M" motion until frothy. Pop any large bubbles with the whisk. Sip it straight from the bowl.

Making Chai Chi
We recommend using 10g of Chai Chi per 100mls of milk for the spiciest of Chai's. Serve with a sprinkling of cinnamon, nutmeg and honey to taste.

Espresso Machine

Place milk and Chai Chi in a jug. Steam with wand of espresso machine to approximately 80oC. Strain hot Chai into cup and serve.

Steep and Steam

Place Chai in a jug and add hot water (20mls of water per 10g of Chai), steep for 2 minutes. Top up with milk, then steam with wand of espresso machine to approximately 80oC. Strain hot Chai into a cup and serve.

Stove Top

Place Chai and milk in a small saucepan or Chai pot. Place over a medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer for 1 minute. Strain hot Chai into a cup and serve.
